Softball Recap: North Thurston Comes Up Short

North Thurston lost against River Ridge back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Rams lost 14-4 to the Hawks. The matchup marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Ellie Hovde made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Leeandrea Trimmer also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for North Thurston and nudges their season record down to 2-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-2 Peninsula (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 66.7% over those games). As for River Ridge, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, North Thurston will host Bellarmine Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for River Ridge, they will venture away from home to square off against Peninsula at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Seahawks will have lost three straight heading into Wednesday's contest.
