Volleyball Game Preview: Carrollton Hawks vs. East Alton-Wood River Oilers + How To Watch

The Carrollton Hawks will take on the East Alton-Wood River Oilers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Carrollton has three straight victories, East Alton-Wood River has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Carrollton won the last time they faced Routt Catholic and Mabry Robeen did her part to make sure it happened again. The Hawks came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday with plenty of help from Robeen, who had 12 digs and three assists. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10 digs per game.

Carrollton easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-19.

Meanwhile, East Alton-Wood River came up short against Columbia on Thursday and fell 2-0.

East Alton-Wood River was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring eight points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-8.

Carrollton's win bumped their record up to 15-4-1. As for East Alton-Wood River, their loss dropped their record down to 2-20-1.

Carrollton beat East Alton-Wood River 2-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Oilers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
