Basketball Recap: Sweetwater Comes Up Short

Sweetwater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tellico Plains Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-47 back in January.

Despite the loss, Sweetwater still got an impressive performance from Lilly Woodruff, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 17 boards. Woodruff's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Alysa Gage was another key player, putting up seven points and 13 rebounds.

Sweetwater's record now sits at 8-15. As for Tellico Plains, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. As for Tellico Plains, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Loudon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
