Basketball Recap: McCormick Takes a Loss

McCormick's game on Friday was all tied up 17-17 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 42-33 to the Abbeville Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 38-37 last Saturday.

Leading Abbeville to victory were Anecia Dawson and Lauryn Murray. Dawson dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Murray posted ten points along with seven boards and six blocks. With that strong performance, Murray is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game. DeLonna Mathis was another key player, putting up five points.

McCormick's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Abbeville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-6.

As of now, neither McCormick nor Abbeville have any future games scheduled.
