Soccer Game Preview: Maplewood vs. Rootstown

The Maplewood Rockets will challenge the Rootstown Rovers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Maplewood is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight matches on Saturday. They lost 7-1 to Badger.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Rootstown's offense. They came up short against St. Vincent-St. Mary on Wednesday, falling 4-0. That's two games in a row now that Rootstown have lost by exactly four goals.

Maplewood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Rootstown, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

Maplewood might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Rootstown when the teams last played back in October of 2015. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
