Softball Recap: Castleberry Drops Highest Score of Season Against Lake Worth

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Castleberry). They were the clear victors by a 29-6 margin over the Lake Worth Bullfrogs on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Rand'Elle Conner was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. Conner was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Josselyn Trejo was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, eight RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Cassandra Martinez was another key player, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles.

Castleberry always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .702. They are 4-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Castleberry's win bumped their record up to 7-20-1. As for Lake Worth, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.

As of now, neither Castleberry nor the Bullfrogs have any future games scheduled.
