Baseball Recap: Stevens Point Comes Up Short

After flying high against Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln on Thursday, Stevens Point came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the Holmen Vikings by a score of 8-6 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since June 4, 2024.

Stevens Point has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Holmen, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-1-1.

Coincidentally, Stevens Point and Holmen will both be playing Eau Claire Memorial the next time they take the field. The Panthers will head out to face the Old Abes at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Vikings will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
