Softball Recap: Westmont Comes Up Short

Westmont lost against Willow Glen back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Westmont Warriors came up short against the Willow Glen Rams, falling 15-5. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Westmont saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Ortiz, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI. That's the most RBI Ortiz has posted since back in April of 2024. Another was Marina Li, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Westmont now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Willow Glen, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westmont will challenge Santa Teresa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Teresa is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Willow Glen, they will face off against Ann Sobrato at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Willow Glen's pitching crew has only allowed 1.3 runs per game this season, so Ann Sobrato's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
