Baseball Game Preview: Terre Haute North Vigo Patriots vs. West Vigo Vikings

Terre Haute North Vigo and West Vigo are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Terre Haute North Vigo 3.3, West Vigo 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Terre Haute North Vigo couldn't beat Brownsburg on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Patriots fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 6-5. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Brayden Dean was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. He has become a key player for Terre Haute North Vigo: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Colten Moore, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Meanwhile, West Vigo gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Southmont by a score of 3-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

West Vigo is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Terre Haute North Vigo couldn't quite get it done against West Vigo in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 as they fell 5-0. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
