Basketball Recap: Parkland Skates Past East Davidson with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Parkland). They breezed past the East Davidson Golden Eagles to the tune of 68-28 on Tuesday. With the Mustangs ahead 44-18 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Parkland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Azari Wilkins, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine steals. Thanks to that strong game, Wilkins now owns an excellent 47.4% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Kimora Brooks, who posted 20 points.

Parkland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Parkland's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for East Davidson, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parkland will welcome Glenn at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. As for East Davidson, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against South Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
