 While it was Washington-Liberty who put the first points on the board on Saturday, it was Yorktown who put up more. The Washington-Liberty Generals fell just short of the Yorktown Patriots by a score of  7-6. Washington-Liberty has struggled against Yorktown recently, as their  game on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
  Zoe Schroeder was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she  tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned  (and five unearned) runs off   nine  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than six  innings in six consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  Geneva Webber was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Kaitlyn Fado, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 On Yorktown's side, they let  Kassen Foreman and  Audrey Pocrass loose on the outfield. Foreman  scored a  run while going 3-for-4, while  Pocrass  scored a  run while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kaiya Ovando, who  went 1-for-3 with a  stolen base and  an  RBI.
 Washington-Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Yorktown, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record  this season.
 As of now, neither Washington-Liberty nor Yorktown have any future games scheduled.
