Baseball Recap: Mullen Victorious

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Mullen ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Eaglecrest Raptors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since March 21st.

Mullen got a great performance from Jayden Salazar as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts Salazar has posted since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Mullen saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Griffith Dings, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Mullen's record is now 8-11. As for Eaglecrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

Mullen will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Raptors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
