Softball Game Preview: New Trier Trevians vs. Schaumburg Saxons

The New Trier Trevians will square off against the Schaumburg Saxons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. New Trier's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Schaumburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times New Trier and Buffalo Grove have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Trevians fell just short of the Bison by a score of 4-3. The Trevians have struggled against the Bison recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Schaumburg's offense. They lost 9-0 to Glenbrook North on Friday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Saxons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Schaumburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Dolecki, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.

Schaumburg's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for New Trier, their loss dropped their record down to 15-7.
