Basketball Game Preview: Lake Nona Lions vs. Winter Park Wildcats

The Lake Nona Lions just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Winter Park Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Nona is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Lake Nona lost to Master's Academy on the road by a 65-50 margin. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while the Eagles are ranked 62nd).

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Winter Park beat Timber Creek 42-36 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Winter Park pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Lake Nona, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Lake Nona came up short against Winter Park in their previous meeting last Tuesday, falling 45-37. Can Lake Nona avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
