Baseball Game Preview: Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Bulldogs vs. Cameron Comets

The Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Bulldogs will face off against the Cameron Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Chetek-Weyerhaeuser's offense. They lost 9-0 to McDonell Central on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since April 12, 2024.

Meanwhile, Cameron hadn't done well against Chequamegon recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Comets were the clear victors by a 15-7 margin over the Screaming Eagles. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Comets considering their one-run performance the contest before.

The team relied heavily on Ryker Ebert, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Larson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5.

Cameron always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Cameron's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Chetek-Weyerhaeuser, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Chetek-Weyerhaeuser beat Cameron 3-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
