Basketball Recap: Garces Memorial Comes Up Short

Garces Memorial lost against Bakersfield Christian back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Garces Memorial Rams took a 62-47 bruising from the Bakersfield Christian Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 692nd, while the Eagles are ranked 130th).

Garces Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Bakersfield Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Centennial the next time they take the court. Bakersfield Christian will host Centennial at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Garces Memorial will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
