Baseball Recap: Clinton Comes Up Short

Clinton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Smith-Cotton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cardinals fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 9-7 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cardinals have suffered against the Tigers since March 21, 2017.

This is the second loss in a row for Clinton and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Smith-Cotton, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Clinton will head out to take on Richmond at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Smith-Cotton, they will face off against Blue Springs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
