Basketball Recap: Union Comes Up Short

Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Lakewood Leopards, falling 75-36. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.

Leading Lakewood to victory were Xavier Hall and Cameron Williams. Hall dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds, while Williams almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. Hall is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. Juan Parker Jr. was another key player, going 5 for 9 en route to 17 points.

Union's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Lakewood, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Union will take on Rosewood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakewood, they will challenge North Duplin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lakewood's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matchups.
