Baseball Recap: Cherokee Trail Victorious

Cherokee Trail put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They never let the Putnam City Pirates get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. With that win, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Brennan Niewinski tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Cannon Zubeck was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and five RBI. Another player making a difference was Charlie Kroell, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.
