Volleyball Recap: Coshocton Comes Up Short

Coshocton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sandy Valley Cardinals. The Redskins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.

Mallorie Stamper paced Coshocton's offense, picking up 11 kills. Stamper really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 14. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Pheonix Celeschi, racking up two apiece.

Sandy Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Taliana Tozzi out in front who had 19 digs, 13 kills, three aces, and two blocks. That's the most blocks Tozzi has posted over her last four contests. Teresa Petro was another key player, getting 15 digs, nine kills, three aces, and two blocks.

Coshocton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Sandy Valley, their record is now 5-9.

Coshocton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Crooksville on the 23rd. As for Sandy Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Garaway on the 23rd.
