Basketball Recap: Kickapoo Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Nixa

On Tuesday, Kickapoo faced Nixa in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Kickapoo Chiefs took a 51-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nixa Eagles. The contest marked the Chiefs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Kickapoo's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 18-2. As for Nixa, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kickapoo will welcome Waynesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kickapoo is facing Waynesville at the right time seeing as Waynesville is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Nixa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lebanon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Nixa likes a good challenge.
