Southern Connecticut Division II - East recap November 13, 2013

North Haven extended the longest winning streak in Southern Connecticut Division II - East this week by beating Foran, 28-14. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.

East Haven lost to Ludlowe 55-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Connor Cadrin threw for 23 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Jake Kasuba was a passing and rushing force as the Lions lost to North Haven. He completed 13 passes for 144 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 24 yards. Kasuba's favorite target this week was Nick Weissauer, who caught 5 passes for 106 yards.

Weissauer was the best receiver in the league this week as Foran lost to Anthony Sagnella's team. Weissauer tallied 5 receptions for 106 yards. Cadrin helped Foran's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 25 yards.

Jeff Bevino's team's Kasuba and Weissauer have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-8 quarterback Kasuba has thrown for 2,506 yards this season, while Weissauer has 63 catches for 936 yards. Ethan Suraci from the Indians leads the league in rushing with 767 yards.

The Lions' Weissauer is a few successful plays short of surpassing 1,000 yards receiving this season. He needs only 64 receiving yards against Guilford to hit that benchmark. So far this year, he has garnered 63 catches for 936 yards.

An important game coming up in Southern Connecticut Division II - East this week will be when Sheehan takes on the Yellowjackets. The Titans are in third place, while East Haven is in fourth place.

North Haven led the league in scoring this week after putting up 28 points on Foran. Michael Montano threw for 45 yards and ran for 83 yards during the win.
