Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for East Carteret

East Carteret never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Eastern Wayne Warriors 29-0. That looming 29-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mariners yet this season.

Wood Parker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Chase Roberson was a standout: he went 5-for-6 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Eli Jenkins was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances.

East Carteret hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastern Wayne struck out 13 times.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Eastern Wayne, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, East Carteret will be playing in front of their home fans against North Pitt at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East Carteret's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so North Pitt's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Eastern Wayne, they will venture away from home to take on Neuse Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
