Volleyball Game Preview: Mesa Verde Mavericks vs. Golden Sierra Grizzlies

After both having extra time off, the Mesa Verde Mavericks and the Golden Sierra Grizzlies will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Mesa Verde got the win against Lindhurst by a conclusive 3-0.

Mesa Verde walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-23, 25-12, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Golden Sierra was able to grind out a solid win over Lindhurst on Friday, taking the game 3-1. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Blazers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Golden Sierra got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 35-33, 25-19, 16-25, 25-18.

Mesa Verde better keep an eye on Austin Cole. He was instrumental in Golden Sierra's win, getting 39 assists.

Golden Sierra's record now sits at 4-6. As for Mesa Verde, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Everything went Mesa Verde's way against Golden Sierra in their previous meeting back in March, as Mesa Verde made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mavericks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
