Baseball Recap: Washington Has No Trouble Against Holt

Washington had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Holt on Saturday. The Bluejays blew past the Indians 12-2. For the Bluejays, this counts as revenge for the 12-4 victory the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Washington got a massive performance out of Ben Gelinas, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Gelinas a new career-high. Ryan Williams was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Washington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Washington's win bumped their record up to 9-20. As for Holt, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.

Washington will head out on the road to face off against Sullivan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Holt, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Winfield at 4:15 p.m.
