Softball Recap: Cypress Comes Up Short

Cypress lost against Los Alamitos back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Centurions fell just short of the Griffins by a score of 5-4. The Centurions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tia Hernandez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Hayden Haney also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Cypress' loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Los Alamitos, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Cypress will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Esperanza at 3:15 p.m. The Centurions are facing the Aztecs at the right time seeing as the Aztecs are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Los Alamitos, they will venture away from home to face off against Newport Harbor at 3:15 p.m. on the 22nd.
