Baseball Game Preview: Foley Lions vs. St. Michael Catholic Cardinals

The Foley Lions will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the St. Michael Catholic Cardinals at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Foley is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against St. Michael Catholic. Foley's pitcher stepped up to hand St. Michael Catholic a 10-0 shutout on Friday.

St. Michael Catholic's batters probably weren't too happy with Kolby Jordan, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (he gave up zero walks). Furthermore, Jordan didn't allow a single hit, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February of 2024.

At the plate, Austin Heiden was incredible, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (four). Another player making a difference was Colton Watkins, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Foley took their win against St. Michael Catholic when the teams last played on Friday by a conclusive 10-0. Will Foley repeat their success, or does St. Michael Catholic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
