Softball Game Preview: Mitchell Bluejackets vs. Brown County Eagles

The Mitchell Bluejackets will venture away from home to square off against the Brown County Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mitchell comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Mitchell lost 18-1 to Linton-Stockton on Monday.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Brown County faced off against Eastern Greene on Tuesday. The Eagles came out on top against the Thunderbirds by a score of 10-7. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Brown County got a big performance out of Grace Frye, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Emma Woolems was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Brown County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Brown County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Mitchell, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
