Baseball Recap: Albion Purple Eagles vs. Newfane Panthers
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Albion). Everything went their way against the Newfane Panthers on Saturday as they made off with a 13-1 victory. The game was the first time the Purple Eagles have beaten the Panthers on their field since May 9, 2022.
Nathan Gibson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Kaiden Froman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Elliott Trapiss was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
