Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Aiden Madden and Joey Galvan Lead Kern Valley to Victory

Kern Valley won the last time they faced Mammoth and things went their way on Friday too. The Kern Valley Broncs walked away with a 49-39 victory over the Mammoth Huskies. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Broncs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kern Valley was led to victory by Joey Galvan and Aiden Madden. Galvan posted 17 points and four steals, while Madden scored 19 points and five assists. That's the most points Galvan has posted since back in December of 2023. Bryce Smoot was another key player, putting up four points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Kern Valley's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12. As for Mammoth, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kern Valley will venture away from home to take on Boron at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mammoth, they will head out on the road to challenge Bishop Union at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Union will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Mammoth surely won't give up without a fight.
