Recap: North Mesquite Stallions vs. Seagoville Dragons
The North Mesquite Stallions waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Seagoville 63-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
North Mesquite's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jermiah Grigsby, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Grigsby continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Vaughn, who scored 18 points.
North Mesquite is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Seagoville, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-7.
North Mesquite will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Samuell at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Samuell is ranked 445th, while North Mesquite is ranked 465th). As for Seagoville, they will head out on the road to face off against West Mesquite at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
