Baseball Game Preview: North Buncombe Black Hawks vs. Erwin Warriors

For the second straight game, North Buncombe will face off against Erwin. The Black Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

North Buncombe took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over Erwin. The Black Hawks have beaten the Warriors the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Warriors has come to flipping the script.

Kameron Keenan was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Dalton Anderson and Bannen Winker did most of the damage at the plate: Anderson went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Winker went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits Anderson has posted since back in March. Jack Davis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Erwin's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for North Buncombe, their record now sits at 12-8.
