Basketball Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short

Liberty lost against Hamilton/Warsaw back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Liberty Eagles were outmatched by the Hamilton/Warsaw Titans and fell 64-35. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 367th, while the Titans are ranked 93rd).

Liberty lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jack Sparrow, who posted 12 points and seven boards. Vince Cramsey was another key player, putting up eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Liberty and nudges their season record down to 16-11. As for Hamilton/Warsaw, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season.

Liberty didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-29 defeat against Quincy Notre Dame on the 14th. As for Hamilton/Warsaw, they have also already played their next game, a 63-27 win against Augusta Southeastern on the 14th.
