Preview: EPIC Academy The Legends vs. Goode STEM Academy Knights
EPIC Academy has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Goode STEM Academy Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. EPIC Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Tuesday, EPIC Academy was beaten by Julian 56-7. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for EPIC Academy in their matchups with Julian: they've now lost four in a row.
EPIC Academy's defeat came about despite a quality game from Rasheed Woods, who scored 5 points.
Meanwhile, Goode STEM Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 63-47 bruising from Chicago Military Academy.
EPIC Academy bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.0 points per game. As for Goode STEM Academy, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
EPIC Academy took their win against Goode STEM Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 55-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for EPIC Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
