Basketball Game Preview: San Augustine Wolves vs. Woden Eagles

San Augustine is 0-9 against Woden since January of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The San Augustine Wolves will challenge the Woden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. San Augustine will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, San Augustine took their match with ease, bagging a 55-27 win over Hemphill. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Woden suffered their biggest loss since February 6, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 43-22 to West Sabine. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

San Augustine pushed their record up to 16-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Woden, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.

San Augustine ended up a good deal behind Woden in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, losing 42-24. Can San Augustine avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
