Marshall County posted their closest win since May 10, 2024 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Waynesburg Central Raiders. The three-run effort marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Abby Leverette spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Marshall County's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Madison Mason, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Eryn Ketchum also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

The victory got Marshall County back to even at 4-4. As for Waynesburg Central, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Marshall County has already played their next contest, a 6-4 loss against Richmond-Burton on the 24th. As for Waynesburg Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 18-3 defeat against West Geauga on the 25th.
