League recap: Leichtner throws longest pass in league this season for Joshua Springs

Joseph Leichtner and Jacob Husband provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Desert Chapel. The longest such play in Victory (8 Man) this season, the connection resulted in 74 yards.

Desert Christian Academy took down Bloomington Christian 43-24 last week, the largest margin of any game. Hunter Hurja threw for 131 yards and three touchdowns and ran for four yards in the win.

Joshua Springs's dynamic duo of Leichtner and Husband proved tough for the Eagles to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Leichtner threw for 418 yards and three touchdowns and Husband had 182 yards receiving. Ryan Green helped Joshua Springs' passing attack out by catching five balls for 96 yards.

Kyle Melton was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 157 yards on 31 carries as the Ravens bested Desert Chapel. Joshua Kilgore also contributed to the rushing game with 36 yards on the ground.

The Conquerors' Hurja and Marshall Webb have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hurja has thrown for 1051 yards this season, while Webb, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 34 catches for 535 yards. Melton from Bloomington Christian leads the league in rushing with 667 yards.

The marquee game in Victory (8 Man) this week will be the clash between Marc Stamper's team and Jim Donaldson's team. The Ravens enters the game ranked 17th in the state, while the Eagles ranks sixth.

There should be lots of points scored when Desert Christian Academy and Joshua Springs face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Scott Gilbert's team comes in having scored 288 this season, while Israel Hagerman's team has scored 374. The Conquerors scored 43 points last week as they beat Bloomington Christian.

The Lightning led the league in scoring this week after putting up 60 points on Desert Chapel. Leichtner ran for nine yards in the win.
