It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fort Meade can now relate to. They fell just short of the Marathon Dolphins by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Miners couldn't push the score so high this time.

Andrew Brooks put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Owen Harrell was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Fort Meade's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-12. As for Marathon, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-9.

As of now, neither Fort Meade nor the Dolphins have any future games scheduled.
