Football Recap: Richland Raiders vs. McKenzie Rebels

Richland and McKenzie squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Richland had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 56-7 loss at the hands of the McKenzie Rebels. The Raiders were red-hot offensively headed into the game (they scored no less than 31 points in the three matches prior) but the Rebels' defense proved too tough.

It was another big night for Tate Surber, who threw for 280 yards and five touchdowns while completing 88% of his passes, and also rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown for McKenzie. Colt Norden was Surber's top target, picking up 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground.

Richland's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4. As for McKenzie, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Richland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McKenzie, they are taking a road trip to take on Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something McKenzie surely won't give up without a fight.
