Soccer Game Preview: Atkins vs. North Forsyth + How To Watch

Atkins hasn't had much luck against North Forsyth recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Camels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Atkins has given up an average of 3.3 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Atkins lost 5-2 to Mount Tabor on Monday. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Atkins were already down 4-0.

William Roehrenbeck and John Shaw scored both of Atkins' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but North Forsyth ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over North Davidson. Given North Forsyth's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 186th, while North Davidson are ranked 389th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Atkins' defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-6. As for North Forsyth, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season.

Atkins suffered a grim 6-2 defeat to North Forsyth when the teams last played back in September of 2022. Can the Camels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
