Baseball Recap: Mission Takes a Loss

After flying high against Donna last Saturday, Mission came back down to earth. The Mission Eagles fell just short of the La Joya Coyotes by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Coyotes: they've now lost six in a row.

Mission's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for La Joya, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

Coming up, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Mission Eagles face off against Hanna Golden Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for La Joya, they will take on Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North in a tournament on Thursday. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North's pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so La Joya's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
