Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Gulf Pointe Latin

Gulf Pointe Latin had won two straight games and Rebekah Thompson did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators took down the East Hill Christian Eagles 47-29 thanks in part to Thompson, who went 8 of 15 on her way to 19 points along with five assists and five boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Gulf Pointe Latin's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jacqueline Schnieders, who posted six points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Gulf Pointe Latin is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points per game. As for East Hill Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gulf Pointe Latin will welcome Aletheia Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Hill Christian, they will square off against Atmore Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. East Hill Christian is facing Atmore Christian at the right time seeing as Atmore Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
