Football Recap: Hart Skates Past Wellman-Union with Ease

While Hart didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-7), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Wellman-Union Wildcats 57-24 on Friday. The Longhorns haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Hart got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tradien Worsham out in front who rushed for 218 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 75 yards and a pair of TDs. Worsham is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 105 every time he's taken the field this season. Ruben Gonzales was another key player, picking up 205 receiving yards and four scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hart was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 326 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 210 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Hart's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. It was truly a group effort as Yael Soltero, JJ` Jimenez, and Aiden Cisnero picked up two apiece. With that strong performance, Jimenez is now averaging an impressive 5.2 total tackles per game.

Hart's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Wellman-Union, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hart will take on Anton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Longhorns will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Wellman-Union, they will head out to take on Grady at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wellman-Union will need to watch out since Grady has now posted at least 31 points in their last four games.
