Baseball Recap: Webber Takes a Loss

Webber extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They came up short against the Byron-Bergen Bees, falling 12-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

As for Byron-Bergen, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 11, 2024 (when they won 12-3).

For Byron-Bergen's part, Gavin Kinkelaar was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Kinkelaar has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Byron-Bergen got a massive performance out of Kyle Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave Smith a new career-high. Dylan Utter was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Webber has already played their next match (against Kendall), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Byron-Bergen, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-6 victory against Alexander on the 8th.
