Desert Sunrise lost to Moon Valley back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Golden Hawks snuck past the Rockets with a 60-54 victory. With that win, the Golden Hawks brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.

Desert Sunrise's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyjaun McCucheon, who posted 23 points. Cory Yateman was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Desert Sunrise's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8. As for Moon Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Sunrise will be home for the holidays to greet Somerton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Hawks will be up against the Toros' rather soft defense (which has allowed 68.38 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Moon Valley, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Thunderbird at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
