Football Game Preview: Newaygo Lions vs. Tri County Area Vikings

The Newaygo Lions will square off against the Tri County Area Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Newaygo is looking for their season's first victory.

Last Friday, Newaygo was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 26-20 to Chippewa Hills.

Newaygo's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Trevor Garbrecht, who threw for 129 yards and two touchdowns, and Camden Reyburn, who picked up 48 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 55 points the game before, Tri County Area was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were outmatched by Big Rapids and fell 63-6. The loss was the Vikings' first of the season.

Newaygo's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Tri County Area, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Newaygo didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Tri County Area when the teams last played back in September of 2024, but they still walked away with a 42-38 win.
