Baseball Recap: Savio's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Savio came into Monday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the St. Michael's Warriors 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted against the Warriors since March 7, 2023.

The team relied heavily on Vincent DeLeon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Tobias Ubias also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Savio's victory bumped their record up to 9-7-1. As for St. Michael's, they dropped their record down to 14-17-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Savio will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
