Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Winthrop

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Winthrop). They were the clear victor by a 49-28 margin over the Mountain Valley Falcons on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Ramblers have posted since January 31st.

Winthrop's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.6 points per game. As for Mountain Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Winthrop is taking a road trip to challenge Spruce Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mountain Valley and Monmouth Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Monmouth Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Mountain Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
