Basketball Game Preview: Mercer County Titans vs. Madison Central Indians

The Mercer County Titans will face off against the Madison Central Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mercer County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Madison Central likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, Mercer County was able to grind out a solid victory over Pulaski County, taking the game 55-43.

Meanwhile, Madison Central came up short against Lexington Catholic on Tuesday and fell 53-41. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Mercer County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points over those games. As for Madison Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-9.

Mercer County skirted past Madison Central 67-65 when the teams last played back in December of 2015. Will Mercer County repeat their success, or does Madison Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
