Volleyball Recap: Griswold Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Griswold extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Carly Rubino. The Wolverines had just enough and edged out the Lyman Memorial Bulldogs 3-2 with plenty of help from Rubino, who had 19 digs and one assist. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (106-101) Griswold actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Griswold's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Lyman Memorial, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Griswold will head out on the road to face off against Ledyard at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lyman Memorial, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sacred Heart Academy at 6:00 p.m. on October 13.
